The IAPG is committed to advancing
and ensuring the implementation of laws
and policies that further
the equitable development of women, men, adolescents
and children in all countries of the Americas,
with a particular focus on women’s empowerment.
The IAPG promotes a better understanding of
population and development issues among parliamentarians,
as
well as other elected representatives and decision
makers from the Americas, and encourages
collaboration and dialogue with different
sectors of society at the national, regional and
international level.
Our Vision
IAPG strives for a world where
women, men and young people can live free from violence
and all forms of discrimination, for a democratic
society where the human rights of all citizens are
respected; and national resources are distributed
fairly and efficiently. A world with a human development
agenda and population policies that incorporate
a gender perspective and a rights-based approach.
IAPG is committed to a world that will enable both
women and men to have equal participation and to
enjoy a healthy and creative life.
| There are three variables
that influence population change: migration,
births and deaths. Laws, policies and programs
related to population should try to improve
the quality of life of the people in each country,
focusing on adequate solutions that correspond
to new perceptions about population, with a
rights-based approach. |
