Dialogue”
Parliamentary Dialogue is a quarterly newsletter
from the IAPG that promotes women’s human
rights in the Americas. Published thanks to the
generous support of the Latin America Division
of UNFPA, this newsletter is an advocacy tool
to disseminate information about laws and policies
related to population and development at the regional
level.

Ottawa Commitment (104 kb)
The Ottawa Commitment document was adopted by
consensus by 103 signatories, at the International
Parliamentary Conference on the Implementation
of the Program of Action of the ICPD. This document
includes concrete actions that parliamentarians
can take to mobilize resources and create an enabling
environment for the implementation of the ICPD
Programme of Action. This document suggests strengthening
mechanisms to increase cooperation and alliances
between parliamentarians at the regional and international

address the issue of violence against women and
offers a series of conceptual tools highlighting
the fundamental rights that should be included
in the legislation. This material was produced
to raise awareness on this issue among parliamentarians
at the time when countries in the region were
